Yes. I am fully certified by Transport Canada to fly a drone in Ontario. Please note that there are areas that are completely restricted for drone flights and others that require special permission. If you are unsure about your location, contact me and I'd be happy to help.
  • Is Up Photography insured?
Yes. Up Photography has up to $2 million in liability insurance for drone operations.
  • What training does the drone pilot have?
Aside from logging hundreds of hours of flight time with the drone, I have also successfully completed UAV (drone) ground school at the Kitchener/Waterloo Airport.
  • Can I be fined for using a drone service that is not certified by Transport Canada?
Yes. It is possible to be fined by Transport Canada for hiring a drone operator that does not comply with the rules and regulations they have set forth. Up Photography deligently keeps up to date with all of this.
  • How long do I have to wait to receive my drone photos?
You can expect a speedy turnaround time of 24-hours after the shoot for drone photography.
  • How long do I have to wait to receive my drone video?
For most drone video shoots the turnaround time is 48 hours for an edited video put to music and 24-hours for an unedited series of raw video clips.
  • What should homeowners do to prepare their property for a drone shoot?
The overhead perspective of the drone tends to include the entirety of the property so it is important that everything on the outside of the home is clean and tidy. Here are a few tips: Cars should be moved out of the driveway. The lawn should be mowed. Any tools, toys or other items should be put away. Cushions should be put on outdoor furniture. Adding place settings on backyard tables can be a nice touch. Barbeque covers, pool covers and hot tub covers should all be removed when possible. All blinds inside the house should be left open.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cheque, email money transfer, Visa and MasterCard.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
In the event of high winds or percipitation it may not be possible to fly the drone. In this case, the shoot will be rescheduled to a mutually agreed upon time at no extra charge. If a shoot is cancelled for any other reason less than 24 hours before the agreed upon time, a $50 cancelation fee will be levied. If a shoot is cancelled less than 6 hours before the scheduled time a $100 fee will be charged.
